Please give us a call to reserve your queens. We usually sell out of queens several weeks before their shipment date, so it's important to get your order in ahead of time.
All about our Queen Honey Bees
Our farm's queen bees are local, Virginia raised. They are selected from our best bee hives based on their honey production, personality, and brood patterns. One of the distinguishing trademarks of our breeding program is that our queens are not sold until they have capped brood and have a good laying pattern, assuring you that they are not drone layers, but a quality queen that will serve your hive well. They are available from mid-spring to late summer and early fall.
Breeding Lines
We carefully select the queens we raise and sell. Your bees are only as strong as the queen bee, so selecting a good queen is critical to your success in beekeeping. Our queens come from Italian, Karnica, and Carniolan lines. They are prolific layers with excellent brood patterns.
How to Order
As of June 12, 2011, the price for our queens are $25 each, plus shipping. An additional $2 is charged for marking the queen. To place an order, please call us at toll free 866-587-3362 or contact us. In most cases, we can ship the queen to you or you are welcome to stop by our apiary for pickup by reservation only.
