3 1/2 T. cocoa powder
3/4 C. honey
2 eggs
One 5 oz. can evaporated milk
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 t. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans or almonds
1 pie crust
Mix honey and cocoa powder together, add next four ingredients and stir well. Fold in nuts. Pour into pie crust.
Bake at 400 for 10 minutes. Turn back to 350 F for about 25 minutes. Watch it carefully at the end and make sure NOT to overbake... this is the secret to this delicious pie. Pull out while the center of the pie is still very, very wet and let sit on the stove for about 15 minutes. The center should be almost liquid, while the outside of the pie is set. This is SO good you won't believe there isn't any sugar in it. If you make your own homemade pie crust, using freshly ground soft wheat and butter as the ingredients, everything is a natural product and pretty good for you and the kids. If you try this recipe, let me know what you think!
